AC & Heating
Mini-Split Heating & Cooling
Each room has its own wall-mounted heating and cooling unit with a remote.
To use:
After adjusting, allow 5–10 minutes for the system to respond. Avoid turning the unit off and on repeatedly.
⚠️ Important: AC units must NEVER be set below 69°F.
⚠️ If doors are open, the AC units MUST be turned off — they cannot be left running.
If a unit is not responding, check the remote batteries and point the remote directly at the wall unit. If you need assistance, message us.
Pool & Spa Heating
Pool and spa heating are available upon request for an additional fee due to propane operating costs. Heating must be requested at least 48 hours prior to arrival.
Please allow several hours for the pool to reach temperature, especially during cooler months. The spa typically heats more quickly.
Do not adjust heater settings or tamper with pool equipment — all systems are professionally managed.
No glass is permitted near the pool or spa at any time.
If both pool and spa heating are reserved, we will alternate between the two as requested. Message us if you have any questions.
Pool & Spa Safety
Pools and hot tubs are fantastic and fun, but they can also be hazardous. The floors around the spa and pool can be very slippery when wet.
- No jumping or diving
- No running near the pool or spa
- No rough play in or around the water
- No food or glass in the pool and jacuzzi area
⚠️ Children should be watched at all times — the pool has no cover.
⚠️ Children aged 11 and under may not use the hot tub.
⚠️ Children ages 12–17 may use the hot tub with adult supervision only.
Intoxicants and bodies of water are a risky combination. You are solely responsible for the safety of all persons on the property during your stay.
Pool & Spa Cleaning
Please shower and wash off all makeup and lotions prior to entering the pool or spa. Do not bring food or drinks near the pool or spa.
We provide the most comprehensive spa cleaning service available — please help us maintain our pristine water. Any damage to the pool and/or hot tub, and any cleaning costs beyond the typical amount, will result in extra fees.
Our pool and spa technician arrives every Monday and Thursday for regular service.
Supplies
An initial supply of trash liners, toilet paper, paper towels, and soap is provided. Extra items needed beyond the initial supply are the responsibility of the guest.
Limited cleaning supplies may be provided. We recommend bringing any special items you may need.
Towels for your stay are stocked below the sinks in all bathrooms.
Laundry
Two washer and dryer sets are available for guest use during your stay.
- Use standard liquid or powder detergent only — no bleach pods
- Wash similar items together and avoid overloading the washer
- Load dryers to no more than 50% capacity to prevent overheating
- Clean the lint trap after every dryer cycle
- If a machine becomes unbalanced or displays an error, pause and redistribute items evenly
If you experience any issues, message us and we will assist promptly.
Coffee Machine
Breville Coffee Maker
Use ground coffee only — do not use whole beans in the filter basket.
After brewing, discard used grounds and rinse the filter basket.
If the machine displays a descale message or error, notify us rather than attempting repairs.
WiFi
WiFi Password: cloudyguest
⚠️ The WiFi modem and satellite radio equipment must not be turned off, unplugged, or touched unless instructed by a manager, owner, or Mojave WiFi employee.
Damage to equipment due to disregard of these rules will result in equipment replacement fees starting at $200.
TV & Sound System
Remote controls are beside the TVs. Please log in with your own account to any streaming app on our Smart TVs. Please remember to log out at the end of your stay.
Sonos Sound System
The home is equipped with Sonos soundbars connected to the TVs and WiFi network.
⚠️ Do not unplug, reset, or factory reset any Sonos equipment.
Outdoor Firepit
The outdoor gas fire pit is available for guest use.
⚠️ Never attempt to light the fire pit if you smell gas. Turn the gas off immediately and notify us.
⚠️ The fire pit must be turned completely OFF after each use — control knob to OFF and gas supply fully shut.
⚠️ Do not leave the fire unattended.
Do not place objects, paper, or other materials into the fire pit. If the fire pit does not ignite properly, message us rather than attempting repairs.
BBQ Grill
A gas BBQ grill is available for guest use.
⚠️ Never light the grill with the lid closed.
⚠️ Never leave the grill unattended while in use.
After cooking: Turn all burner knobs to OFF, turn gas supply fully OFF, and allow the grill to cool before closing the lid.
Use grilling utensils only. Do not use foil directly on the grates. If you experience difficulty lighting the grill, message us.
Fire Safety
⚠️ No fireworks, firearms, or lit candles of any kind anywhere on the property.
⚠️ Any cost incurred by a visit from the Fire Department for a guest-caused incident is to be paid by the guest.
Trash & Recycling
All household trash must be securely bagged and placed inside the designated exterior trash bins. Please ensure the lids are fully closed and latched to prevent wildlife access.
Recycling should be placed in the clearly marked recycling bins — clean and dry recyclable materials only.
If your stay overlaps with scheduled trash collection, you are not responsible for moving bins to the street — our team manages regular service.
If bins become full during your stay, notify us and we will coordinate an additional pickup.
⚠️ Loose trash left outside of bins may attract desert wildlife and will result in additional cleaning fees.
No Smoking
⚠️ Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on the property — indoors and outdoors.
This includes cigarettes, cigars, vaping, marijuana, and any other smoke-producing substances.
Smoking inside the home or near entryways may result in significant cleaning fees due to odor remediation and potential damage to furnishings. Discarded cigarette butts or smoking debris left on the grounds will result in additional cleaning charges.
Extra Guests
During your stay, no more than the contracted number of people may be on the property. If you wish to invite others over, you must first message us for permission.
⚠️ Violation of this rule results in a minimum $200 fine per extra guest per night and may result in immediate eviction and forfeiture of your security deposit.
Noise
Sound travels very far in the desert. Please be considerate of neighbors and keep music and voices at a respectful volume at all times.
County-wide noise ordinance: No amplified music or loud noises outdoors after 10 PM.
Photo Shoots
Personal photography for private use is welcome during your stay.
⚠️ Professional photography, commercial shoots, brand campaigns, influencer content production, workshops, and styled shoots are not permitted without prior written approval.
Unauthorized commercial activity may result in immediate termination of the reservation and additional charges.
If you are interested in booking the property for a professional shoot or creative production, please contact us directly. We are happy to accommodate approved projects with proper planning.
Electrical Usage
Please be respectful of the delicate desert environment and turn off whatever is not in use. When rooms are not in use, turn off lights and fans. When you leave the home, turn off all lights and AC systems.
Wildlife Safety
Joshua Tree is wilderness land. From coyotes to snakes to adorable rabbits, life is everywhere in the desert. And just like the prickly cacti, some of these animals can be dangerous.
- Treat nature with respect at all times
- Do not leave food outside
- Do not leave food out overnight indoors
- Do not allow children to explore unattended
You are solely responsible for your safety and the safety of all others on the property during your stay.
Dark Skies
Please do not leave exterior lights on once you have gone to bed. Light pollution is taken seriously in the desert — please don't take away from others' stargazing experiences.
Step outside after dark. The Milky Way is often visible with the naked eye. It's one of the most magical parts of staying here.
Water & Septic
We're off-grid here in the desert. Water flows into our water heater from the local water tank — keep showers short and sweet and you won't run out of hot water.
⚠️ We are on a septic system. All food particles and coffee grounds must be thrown in the trash — not the sink.
⚠️ Only water and a minimal amount of toilet paper may go down the drain. No wipes, no artificial materials in the toilets — wipes go in the trash only.
⚠️ Any cost incurred by a plumber for a guest-caused septic issue is to be paid by the guest.
Checkout & Condition
Guests agree to leave the premises and its contents in the same condition — neat and tidy — as found upon check-in.
⚠️ An excessively messy home will incur extra cleaning fees.
⚠️ Late checkout: $100/hour fee unless previously arranged with us.
Security Deposit
Deductions to the security deposit may include but are not limited to:
- Linens and towels missing or soiled beyond cleaning
- Small breakage items (glasses, plates, etc.)
- Missing items from the house
- Items damaged or stained beyond repair
- Additional guests not claimed on reservation
- Late checkout ($100/hour)
- Pool and jacuzzi cleaning fees from excessively dirty water
- Hourly management fees for processing claims or excessive property visits

⚠️ Security deposit starts at $2,500.
⚠️ For groups over 12 guests, the security deposit is doubled: $2,500 × 2 = $5,000.
Liability
The property owner and manager do not assume any liability for loss, damage, or injury to persons or their personal property. Neither does the owner accept any liability for any inconveniences, damage, loss, or injury arising from any temporary defects or stoppage in supply of water, gas, WiFi, electricity, or plumbing, or due to weather conditions, natural disasters, or other reasons beyond our control.
Please report any maintenance needs and we will respond as quickly as possible.
Obey the Law
Guests and visitors shall obey all laws of the State of California, as well as local laws, at all times while on the premises.
⚠️ Failure to abide by California law or the above rules may cause guests to be asked to vacate the premises and forfeit all rents and security/damage deposits.
